Salt Water Pumping Station (May Gurney)

Brenwal were appointed the local Civil Engineering Company by May Gurney for the Civil Engineering works for the new salt water intake pump station at La Collette. Brenwal were appointed to carry out the following aspects of the contract. The installation of the reinforced concrete slab to the pump station with openings cast for the intake pipe work and service hatches.

The new salt water fire pump was then connected to the existing salt water fire fighting system using ductile iron pipe and specialist manufactured junctions. The existing salt water main pumps were isolated and the cut-in carried out under a permit. The cut-in consisted of the installation of a new automatic Rotorc valve being installed in the pump chamber. On completion the new line was recommissioned and tested.
